Free Sample Edit

What is a sample edit? It’s when you send me 1,000–2,000 words from your manuscript, and I edit them so you can see what editing can do for your project. Since the beginning of your work-in-progress is usually the most polished, I recommend sending a sample from the middle of it.

What’s the point? To get an idea of what the editing process looks like and what it would be like to work with me. I’ll also let you know if your document isn’t ready yet for the kind of editing I do, will recommend what type of editing is needed, and will help you find someone to do it, if you’d like.

What’s next? I’ll return the sample to you along with a quote for completing the entire project. You ask any questions you may have and then decide if you would like to work with me. If you do, great! We’ll talk about a timeline for the project. If you don’t, that’s fine. You need to find the right fit for you.

How do I get started? Simply click the button below or send me an email at stephanie@thompsonediting.com with your document attached (please send it in Word format). I’ll confirm receipt of it and get it back to you within three business days.

Is it really that easy? It sure is! I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve been working so hard on! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
